Lunch Bucket Buddies
Groups

Trades exposure that fits in a class period.

Most schools can't staff an industrial tech teacher for third graders. A crate of kits, a comic, and 90 minutes can still show thirty kids what a surveyor does.

Classrooms

Order by the class — 25, 30, however many desks you have. The comic carries the reading, the kit carries the hands-on, and there's nothing to set up beyond handing out glue.

Kits without buckets keep the per-student cost down; add buckets for a club that meets all year. Classroom orders include the Landscape Foundations lessons, part of a 20-mission track.

Camps & after-school

Works as a single session or as a series that rotates through trades week by week. Kids who won't sit still for a worksheet will sit for this.

Facilitator notes and a discussion prompt come with every group order.

Builders associations

Hand a starter bucket to every new member to pass along to a kid in their life — a grandchild, a neighbor, the kid down the street. Your members already want to grow the next crew; this gives them something to hand over.

Co-branded sticker sheets available on runs of 100 or more.

Where we've seen this work

A trades camp in Michigan runs about 8,000 students a year. Kids come back three times a week for six weeks and rotate through the trades — not a one-off field trip, a habit.

Their executive director's line about it stuck with us: they have almost no behavior problems. Off screens, hands busy, building something they can touch. That's the whole model, and it's why we aimed Lunch Bucket Buddies at elementary school instead of waiting for junior year.

Elementary isn't about picking a career. It's planting a seed.

The kids just love coming out and doing what they're doing. It's a whole different environment than book learning in a classroom.
